GasAmerica Services Inc.: A Greenfield Business

GasAmerica Services Inc. began in an Indiana small town in 1916. Herbert White opened his dream business and called it White Petroleum. At that time, the company consisted of one bulk petroleum plant and one delivery truck. Over the years, Herbert White’s dream has expanded through four generations and became what is now GasAmerica Services Inc.

The company’s red, white and blue logo, and their slogan, “That’s Convenience,” makes GasAmerica Services Inc. highly recognizable throughout Indiana and Ohio. The company headquarters are based just northeast of I-465 in Greenfield, Indiana. This Greenfield business is very much involved in the community, but the company has several plants and retail locations all throughout the Hoosier State, including locations in Anderson, Bargersville, Knightstown, Indianapolis and New Castle.

In 2006, GasAmerica Services Inc. made a special attempt to reach out to the Indianapolis society, culture and community by beginning its Hometown Heroes program. This program recognizes local heroes that have gone above and beyond in serving their communities.

GasAmerica Services Inc. also has its own charitable foundation that has been giving back to communities for years. The company takes a special interest in Indianapolis children, completing fundraisers and Indianapolis events for Riley Hospital and its Children’s Miracle Network.

Also to benefit Riley, GasAmerica Services Inc. partnered with WFMS 95.5 FM, an Indianapolis radio station to sponsor the Riley Radiothon. Charitable contributions have also been made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, the Diabetes Foundation, the Leukemia Society, the Make a Wish Foundation in Indiana and Ohio, Methodist Hospital and many others.

Not only does GasAmerica Services Inc. fuel Indiana drivers, but it helps keep Indiana business strong. The company also does its part to ensure a safe and clean future environment by promoting the use of green and clean fuels. GasAmerica has even been recognized for its promotion of biodiesel fuels, winning the Lugar Energy Patriot Award from Indiana Senator Dick Lugar.
