If you think that Greenfield attractions are few and far between, all you have to do is look around you. Greenfield parks are spread all throughout the small town, and each one offers residents and visitors alike something different. Riley Park is spread over 40 acres of meticulously cared for land, and visitors are given access to a skate park, tennis courts, basketball courts, and much more. In addition to Riley Park, Greenfield residents can also take in Central Park, Commons Park, and Brandywine Park, named after Brandywine Creek, which runs through its borders.

No less than four Greenfield attractions are directly related to this famous literary giant who was born in Greenfield, including the aforementioned Riley Park. The first of these is the James Whitcomb Riley Old Home & Museum, an Indiana historical landmark. The house is the birthplace of Riley, and features period decorations, memorabilia, and works by the poet. The Riley Old Home also has a gift shop, and visitors can experience many Greenfield events there throughout the year.

In that case, why not satisfy your hunger for food and your thirst for knowledge at the Riley House, another Greenfield attraction that deals with James Whitcomb Riley. Unlike the Old Home & Museum, the Riley House is a Greenfield restaurant that offers delicious fare and a cozy, down-home atmosphere.

The orchard has planted several acres of short dwarf apple trees, so you don’t have to throw out your back reaching up to pluck the plump, ripe fruit. The orchard provides pickers with bags, a wagon, and instructions to increase their picking pleasure, and you can get almost any variety of apple you’d like.
